The Copeland-index is derived from the sum of the rows of the outranking matrix:

Let x,y be any two objects of an object set X, with

The outranking matrix out(x,y) is obtained summing over all

Finally C(x) is obtained as a row sum of the out(x,y) matrix:

For the objects x a weak order can be obtained due to the C(x) - values.
